Does it hurt?
If you were to ask most clients to rate their pain on a scale of 1 (low) to 10 (high), most clients would say brows are a 3 and lips are a 5. Numbing gel is used to enhance comfort during both.
What method of brows is right for me?
Powder brows are great for virtually any skin type! This is why most of the photos you see on my pages are powder brows (like the photo above).
Microblading or combo brows (with "hair strokes") are recommended only if you have normal to dry skin, small pores, and no skin damage or deep wrinkling.
How long does an appointment take?
Brow appointments average 2.5-3 hours, lip appointments 2-3 hours, and removal
appointments 1-1.5 hours.
How long will they look red or bold?
Initial warmth subsides within a couple days. The tattoo is done warm initially to make up for the ashiness that occurs during healing. From the first day of your appointment to 4 weeks out, most clients see their brows fade anywhere from 20%-40%. This is normal as this is meant to be a more natural enhancement.
Can I get a tattoo while pregnant or breastfeeding?
No. This is not covered by any insurance, and therefor will not be performed at The Brow Bar. While risk of infection is extremely low and we are a clean facility, it's still never zero.
Are kids or guests allowed?
Small children are not allowed at The Brow Bar under any circumstance. Guests are not allowed at this time unless medically necessary and that should be discussed via email or phone ahead of time.
Can I get a tattoo if I'm under 18?
No. This is not legal in the State of Wisconsin.
For any questions not listed, please email firstname.lastname@example.org and The Brow Bar will be happy to answer your questions and add the answers to this FAQ. Thank you!
These policies are put in place to protect artists and their livelihood. There are no exceptions to the enforcement of these policies. When you are late, frequently rescheduling, cancelling, or no call/no show - your artist loses income for 3 hours, and you are taking away time that would have benefited a different client. Please know that these are not here for any reason other than for your artist to live and for the business to run and pay bills when time is taken and not used.
Thank you for your understanding.
ALL deposits are listed as non-refundable and are 100% enforced as such. If something occurs where you are unable to immediately reschedule, you may have your deposit back via gift certificate for future booking. No cash/card refunds.
Clients running 10 or more minutes late WITH proper notice may reschedule once but are required to prepay the next appointment, and will forfeit their original deposit. 10 minutes is when we begin to run the risk of the artist being late for the next client, and this is not acceptable or fair to the client who is after you. If it is a finishing session you may rebook with a $25 deposit.
Clients running 10 or more minutes late WITHOUT notice are considered no call/no show and will be charged for 50% of their selected appointment on top of their non-refundable deposit.
Proper notice is leaving a voicemail or sending a text message. Client's who no call/no show will additionally be blocked from future booking and phone contact. If it is a finishing session you forfeit this appointment and will be blocked from future booking.
Please do not select an appointment unless you are sure you can make it.
Rescheduling is available because life happens (illness, passing of a loved one, emergencies, etc) and The Brow Bar understands that.
You may reschedule your appointment once with your existing deposit IF you reach out via email, text, or phone (voicemail) at least 48 hours before your appointment time. Contact information can be found on the home page.
If you fail to give the minimum 48 hour notice, you may reschedule with a new deposit and you forfeit your initial deposit.
If you reschedule an appointment that has already been rescheduled previously, you will be required to pay for the appointment in full, and you may not reschedule again if you cannot make this appointment.
Cancellation means you are cancelling your appointment without immediately rescheduling. All deposits are non-refundable. In the event you want to cancel for any reason (changed your mind, working with a different artist, failed to follow precare, schedule changes, etc.) please give at least a 48 hour notice. Failure to do so will result in a last minute cancellation fee equal to the amount of your deposit. If you cancel an appointment that is prepaid, the amount paid is forfeited and cannot be transferred to a different client or used for a different service.
